Elizabeth M. Bailey, M.S.N., R.N., C.P.N.P. Mrs. Bailey received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Stanislaus and her Masters of Science in Nursing and Primary Care at California State University, Fresno. She completed her specialty training as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Valley Medical Center, CSUF in 1980. She is one of the founders of Valley Oak Pediatrics. She is licensed as a Nurse Practitioner by the California State Board of Registered Nursing. She is a Fellow of the National Board of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners and is nationally certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.


S. Rush Bailey, M.D.  Dr. Bailey received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology and Premedical Studies at Occidental College in Los Angeles, California, in 1965. He attended Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, graduating with his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1969. From 1969 to 1972 he received post-graduate medical training in the pediatric program at L.A. County/Harbor General Hospital in Torrance, California, a division of the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine. He began his practice in Modesto in July of 1972. Founder of Valley Oak Pediatrics, 1991. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics.


Philip O. Bauman, M.D.  Dr. Bauman received his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry from California State University, Fresno in 1995. He attended the University of California Davis School of Medicine, graduating with his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1999. He completed his pediatric residency at Columbus Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio in 2002 and began practicing with Valley Oak Pediatric Associates the same year. Dr. Bauman was born and raised in Modesto, California. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics.


Kathryn Bolton, M.D. Dr. Bolton received her Bachelor of Science degree in Premedical Studies at the University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio in 1981. She graduated from Ohio State University Medical College in 1985 and completed her Pediatric Residency training at Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, Ohio in 1988. Since then, she has practiced in Ohio, Los Angeles, Papua New Guinea, and Long Island, New York before arriving in Modesto in 1995. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics.


Christine Y. Chan, M.DDr. Chan received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Boston College in Massachusetts in 1994. She then pursued her graduate study at Columbia University in New York and obtained her Master of Science degree in Nutrition in 1997. Afterward she attended St. George’s University, School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, graduating with her Doctor of Medicine in 2002. She completed her pediatric internship and residency at Nassau University Medical Center in NY in 2005 and continued on as Chief Resident from 2005-2006. She began practicing with Valley Oak Pediatric Associates in September, 2006.


James D. Costello, P.A.  Mr. Costello received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, San Francisco in 1970. He completed premedical studies in 1977 at California State University, Stanislaus and graduated from the Stanford Primary Care Associate Program in 1980. Mr. Costello also received a Master of Arts degree in English from California State University, Stanislaus in 1987. Before coming to Valley Oak Pediatrics, Mr. Costello worked for 10 years in the Child Health program at the Stanislaus County Dept. of Public Health, and for 6 years in the Pediatric Clinic, Stanislaus Medical Center. He is licensed as a Physicians Assistant by the Physician Assistant Examining Committee of the Medical Board of California.


Ronald Goldman, M.D.  Dr. Goldman received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of California Berkeley, in 1966. He attended the University of California, Irvine, California College of Medicine and graduated with his M.D. degree in 1970. After an internship at Highland Alameda County Hospital in Oakland he did his pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Oakland, California from 1971 to 1973. He practiced pediatrics in Sonora and Laguna Hills, California before coming to Modesto in 1983. He also has an interest in Neonatology and provides coverage for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. Founder of Valley Oak Pediatrics, 1991.


Jose G. Limon-Olivares, M.D.   Dr. Limon received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of California Santa Barbara in 1994. He attended the University of Utah School of Medicine graduating with his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1998. He completed his pediatric residency at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas in 2002 and was Chief Resident from 2001-2002. He began working with Valley Oak Pediatric Associates in 2002. Dr. Limon was born and raised in Mexico and speaks fluent Spanish.


Luyen D. Pham, M.D.   Dr. Pham graduated from University of California San Diego with a Bachelor Science degree in 1995. He later attended Ohio State College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio where he obtained his Medical Degree in 2000. He completed his internship and residency at Children’s Hospital Oklahoma. He is Board Certified with the American Academy of Pediatrics. He joined Valley Oak Pediatric Associates in September 2006. He is fluent in Vietnamese.


Donna J. Silva, R.N., M.S., P.N.P.   Ms. Silva received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from California State University, Hayward in 1972. She attended the University of California San Francisco to obtain her Master of Science degree in Nursing and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certificate/license in 1984. Donna worked for Golden Gate Regional Center in San Francisco to establish their High Risk Infant Follow-up program and also with Easter Seals of Marin County. Before joining Valley Oak Pediatric Associates in September 1999, she worked at Children’s Hospital Oakland in their Pediatric Pulmonary Clinic. She is currently a member of the Association of Asthma Educators.


Scott Yang, M.D.   Dr. Yang received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA in 1991. He attended the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and received his degree in Medicine in 1995. Dr. Yang completed his pediatric residency through the United States Air Force at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi in 1998. Afterwards he was stationed as the base pediatrician for 3 years at Kadena Air Base on the island of Okinawa, Japan. Prior to joining Valley Oak Pediatrics in Modesto, Dr. Yang was at Kaiser Permanente in both Northern and Southern California for 6 years and was the Assistant Chief of Pediatrics in Modesto. He joined Valley Oak Pediatric Associates in August of 2007. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and recertified in 2006.
